Whether you are a recent acting graduate from one of the major performing arts training institutions, a mid-career director working in the thriving independent theatre scene, touring with a commercial musical as a Stage Manger or a new producer figuring out your first budget, the stage of your career doesn’t matter: We believe all creatives should feel empowered to change their lives, and the lives of others, through their work.

The Australian Theatre Scene is thriving with an army of professional and pre-professional artists creating incredible Australian Work. We value their knowledge and admire their experiences. We also know there are many artists, emerging into their fields, who are looking for guidance in decision-making and navigating careers. They strive for excellence and look to the elders in our community for support. The professional pathway for any creative can be a lonely and solitary one. It can be difficult to see a clear path when you don’t have someone to support or challenge you.

At Sparrow, we believe that in order to help make our industry feel less siloed, we must help creatives feel less isolated and alone, so that they can continue to change their lives, and the lives of others through their work. Our mentor program virtually connects both mentors and mentees. This program is open to theatre creatives anywhere in Australia who have experience or currently work in the theatre industry.
